SPD

Has anyone else experienced this? I was hoping it would wait a while longer before hitting me. For the past few weeks I've had a lot of groin pain and it is much worse when I get up after sitting or laying down. Walking really hurts. Within the past few days it has really intensified. The doctor said I could take Tylenol for it, but I honestly think that Tylenol is a wasted medication. It doesn't even help when I have a headache.

For anyone that has went through this, I would love to hear some feed back on how to manage the pain. I know there is no other option than to push through the pain and keep going. It is just getting much harder these days.

Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. I had it with both pregnancies and the only thing I found to somewhat help was a chiropractor. Also no fast movements even after the babies are here. My SPD lasted an entire year after I gave birth.

  2. I'm sorry hon. I remember the aches and pains well. I don't have a recommendation for medication, but I will say that you should push your doctors for help if it's bothering you. I didn't and it got to a point where I wasn't sleeping much because of it.

  3. YES!! It sucks. It started fro me around 24 weeks. I wish I had a magic fix for you but I don't. When I roll over or get up I try to engage my core and squeeze my legs together as I get up. That helps. Tylenol does help. It's better than nothing. Rest, rest rest. Warm baths. Keep your feet up. If you talk to your doctor, some doctors will prescribe PT. Good luck!

  7. Also I bought one of these. It really did help and I bought mine at the pharmacy in our local hospital (insurance covered it).
