The Little Couple

Last night was the season premiere for The Little Couple. I don't know how many of you are familiar with this couple (Bill & Jenn). They live in Houston and both have a form of dwarfism (not sure if that is the correct term or not). This couple struggled to have a baby but it was to dangerous for Jenn. She had a miscarriage and went through ivf to have some embryos for a surrogate. Unfortunately they were never able to have a family this way and finally decided to move forward with adoption. There son Will was adopted from China and now they have a daughter that is adopted from India. On their trip to India Jenn was very sick and now they found out she has uterine cancer. There are absolutely not enough words for me to describe what a true inspiration this couple is to me personally. Not once have I ever heard them ask "why me" or feel sorry for the situation life gave them. Instead they chose to move forward and deal with what they have control of.

Even though our struggle is coming to an end, I can only hope that I am half as strong as she is. It is trials like this that truly define you as what type of person you become.

  1. I love the Little Couple and follow Bill and Jen on Twitter.... So I followed her cancer battle first hand. I just love their passion for life and ability to roll with the punches....because let's be honest, they've had their fair share of punches. On top of it all they have excellent careers and still manage to balance everything. They're so inspirational, and they never give up despite all of their obstacles! I'm so glad she is well and they finally get to enjoy their family!

  2. I completely agree with you. The part that really gets me is when she had a retrieval without anesthesia. And never felt sorry for herself. Guts. She's an inspiration.

  3. And the crazy thing is that the cancer is rare and formed because she got pregnant and then the baby died.. Crazy! I love that show, and their daughter is SO adorable. And the way their son kept kissing her and showing her love made my heart melt.

  4. I do not have this channel (we only have an antenna because we never sat down long enough to watch more than the news) and reading about tv shows like this one makes me wish we did. Thank you for sharing. They truly do sound like an inspiration. I once heard that if we all threw our problems in the same pile and saw what everyone else had compared to us, we would run in and grab ours back. I often think of this when I get into that "self-pity" pit. Thanks for this post! xo
