Part One (IVIG)

Well I got a phone call from the infusion center this morning letting me know there was some kind of miscommunication. My insurance doesn't cover me going into the center for the infusion, but does cover them coming to my house. I was completely stunned because it is usually the other way around and this could be why the are required to have the epi-pen and benedryl with them. I definitely won't complain though. I would rather have a four hour IV in the comfort of my own home.

I will update later on how things go! My infusion is at 11:00.

  1. Wow!! That's the issue I have with our healthcare system, they authorize, this which mostly likely cost more but not going to the actual clinic, and too they want to have you have an Epi pen... my concern is your safety... and I would hope that they would at least stay with you for the 4 hours and or after you receive treatment to make sure you are okay.... But I am glad you get to do this at home!

    1. She stayed with me the whole time and said she will for every infusion. It was pretty nice staying at home and having company while going through this.

    1. Is that not totally weird that insurance covers home health, but not me going into the clinic? I definitely won't complain. It was SO nice!
